Warning Signs

Is Your Child Showing These Signs?

If your child is showing any of these signs, a comprehensive autism assessment is the most important next step. Early diagnosis leads to early intervention — and early intervention changes outcomes.

Speech Delay or Loss
No words by age 2, no two-word phrases by 2.5 years, or loss of language skills previously acquired.
Avoids Eye Contact
Does not make eye contact, rarely smiles back, or seems to look through people rather than at them.
Repetitive Behaviors
Repetitive hand movements (hand flapping, spinning), lining up toys, insisting on same routines, or intense narrow interests.
No Interest in Other Children
Does not notice or play with other children, prefers to play alone, or does not respond to social games like peek-a-boo.
Sensory Sensitivities
Extreme reactions to sounds, textures, lights, or touch that seem minor to others. Covers ears, avoids certain foods due to texture, or refuses certain clothing.
Does Not Respond to Name
Does not turn or look up when their name is called, even in a quiet room — as if they cannot hear, even though hearing is normal.

What Is an Autism Assessment?

Not a Single Test. A Complete Picture.

An autism assessment is not a blood test or a simple questionnaire. It is a comprehensive, multi-dimensional evaluation conducted by qualified clinical specialists. At eMind, our assessment process follows DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, 5th Edition) criteria — the international gold standard for autism diagnosis.

The assessment combines a detailed parent interview about your child's developmental history, direct clinical observation of the child's behavior, communication, and social interaction, and standardized assessment tools. No single piece of information is enough — diagnosis requires the full picture.

At the end, you receive a written report that explains exactly what was found, whether your child meets the criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorder, and a clear set of therapy recommendations tailored to your child's specific needs.

What to Expect

The eMind Assessment Process — Step by Step

No surprises. Here is exactly what happens from the moment you call us to the moment you receive your child's written report.

01
Book Your Appointment
WhatsApp or call us to book your assessment appointment. We will confirm a date and time within 24 hours. No referral needed — any parent can book directly.
02
Parent Interview (45–60 min)
The session begins with a detailed interview. Our clinical team asks about your child's developmental history — birth, early milestones, when you first noticed concerns, behavior at home and school, medical history, and family history. This gives the complete background needed for accurate diagnosis.
03
Child Evaluation (60–90 min)
Our specialists directly observe and interact with your child through structured play-based tasks and clinical observation. We assess social communication, eye contact, language, response to instructions, play skills, sensory responses, and repetitive behaviors — all mapped against DSM-5 diagnostic criteria.
04
Diagnosis Discussion
After the evaluation, our clinical team meets with you to explain the findings. We discuss whether your child meets the criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorder, the severity level if applicable, and what specific areas need support. All your questions are answered directly.
05
Written Report + Therapy Roadmap
You receive a comprehensive written report documenting the assessment findings, diagnosis, and a specific therapy recommendation plan. This report can be used with schools, other specialists, and government institutions. If you enroll in any therapy, the Rs. 6,500 assessment fee is fully credited back.
What We Evaluate

6 Areas Covered in the Assessment

Repetitive Behaviors
Repetitive movements, insistence on sameness, rigid routines, restricted interests, and unusual sensory responses.
Language Development
Verbal and non-verbal communication, language comprehension, expressive vocabulary, and speech patterns.
Social Interaction
Peer relationships, ability to share play, social reciprocity, understanding others' emotions, and play development.
Sensory Processing
Responses to sensory input — sound, touch, light, smell, texture — and whether these responses are atypical for the child's age.

Common Questions

Questions Parents Ask Before Booking

No. You can book directly with eMind — no referral from a doctor or GP is required. Simply WhatsApp us at +92 303 5888587 and we will arrange your appointment within days. If you already have reports from previous assessments or specialists, bring them along — they add useful context but are not required.
We assess children from 18 months of age and above. Research shows autism can be reliably diagnosed from age 2 by experienced professionals. The earlier an assessment is done, the earlier intervention can begin — and earlier intervention consistently produces better outcomes. If you have any concern at all, the right time to assess is now.
This is an important outcome too. If your child does not meet the criteria for ASD, the assessment will identify what is actually happening — whether it is a speech delay, sensory processing differences, ADHD, or another developmental concern. In every case, you leave with a clear picture and specific recommendations for what your child needs.
Bring any previous medical reports, school reports, or prior assessment documents if available. Also bring a favorite toy or comfort item for your child. You do not need to prepare your child in any special way — just come as you are. The evaluation is designed to observe your child naturally.
Yes — completely. If you enroll your child in any monthly therapy package at eMind after the assessment, the Rs. 6,500 assessment fee is credited toward your first month's therapy fee. So if you enroll in ABA Therapy at Rs. 12,000/month, your first month costs Rs. 5,500. The assessment effectively becomes free when you start therapy.
Yes. A formal diagnosis is not required to begin therapy at eMind. If your child shows clear developmental delays or autism signs and you want to start immediately, we can begin ABA or speech therapy right away. The assessment can run concurrently or be done separately.
